The Atlantic City Surf have a new team in the front office and on the field. Will it be enough to bring in the fans and keep the team afloat for another decade?

Can Chris Carminucci catch the wave this summer?

Carminucci, a fast-talker with a vibrant personality, is not one of the scores of Jersey Shore board riders, but the GM of the Atlantic City Surf, an indy baseball club in the Canadian-American (Can-Am) League.

He is trying to turn the tide of their attendance and ad dollars to keep the Surf afloat after the ownership group that previously operated the team for a decade nearly wiped out.

“I’m convinced it’s going to make money this year,” said Carminucci.

To do that meant addressing the reality curve that the Surf’s prior front office had created for itself in the community.

Surf VP Ryan Conley explained that the team had “burned some bridges before.”
