The 2008 Champion Rochester Rattlers may be a part of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) history, but a repeat, of sorts, happened at the 2009 New Balance MLL Championship held at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland.
The Toronto Nationals, whose roster sports ten members of last year's MLL championship team in Rochester, are MLL champions in only their first year of competition.
The win marks a major step in the evolution of lacrosse in Canada, where the fast-paced indoor "box" version of the game has long reigned.
